John R. Manning, PE, CCM, LEED AP (BD +C)

John Manning actively leads KMI’s Dispute Resolution and Support Team. He has testified as an expert in both Federal and State Courts on construction litigation matters. John holds licenses as a Professional Engineer and as a Certified General Contractor in the State of Florida. He is also a Certified Construction Manager through the Construction Management Association of America and currently serves as a Director on the National Board of the Construction Management Association of America. His Curricula Vitae recognizes his numerous publications and presentations provided on the construction industry, specifically in the areas of troubled projects, constructability, quality control and assurance, risk assessment, and troubled project turnaround.

With over 40 years of experience in commercial construction and a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Florida, John Manning has the required education and necessary experience to provide expert testimony on a variety of construction and construction default related issues. His portfolio of experience includes management of the design and construction processes on a variety of projects including: resort hotels; parking structures; infrastructure; mixed-use; area development; aviation facilities; defense facilities; and condominium and office development.

Presently, John is in publishing negotiations with his new book titled, Prevent and Turn Around Troubled Construction Projects.

John Becker, CCM, CBC, CCC, PEV

John Becker is KMI International’s Director of Construction Consulting. He has over 35 years in the construction industry and has worked with KMI for nearly 13 years of its 19 year history.  His construction expertise is comprised of a variety of industries from residential to commercial, including a host of aviation, hospitality and public sector projects and facilities. His portfolio of experience includes cost estimating, scheduling, budget development, target value design, value engineering, constructability review, and property condition assessments.

John is a detailed-oriented consultant who provides leadership for precise estimates and property condition assessments that range well into the millions and billions. He is a seasoned senior estimator who possesses a vast knowledge in all facets of construction, with a specialized focus on estimating and scheduling. As a trusted advisor, John Becker provides the solutions clients need to make well-informed decisions in the fast-paced environment of construction.

Tom Smith

A qualified scheduling professional with over 40 years of comprehensive experience in the construction industry. Tom has led analysis of delay claim assessments on major multi-million-dollar projects. He has a proven track record of success in the areas of scheduling and project control. His experience includes: forensic scheduling methodology; development of as-built schedules; investigated change order process to establish and evaluate the cause and effect by analyzing lost productivity; project delays; acceleration; labor and or material escalation; and deviations, or series of deviations, from the baseline to the actual work. He has worked for both owners and contractors leading scheduling departments. Tom’s portfolio of experience includes: petro chemical plants; large aviation programs; resort hotels; parking structures; infrastructure; mixed-use; area development; prisons; defense facilities; and condominium and office development. Tom also has experience with the United States Army Corps of Engineers scheduling requirements.
