Tom Smith, Scheduler, Joins KMI

Tom is a central FL native and grew up in Orlando, Florida. Before attending college at the University of Florida, he worked for his father’s Mechanical Contracting company in Orlando as a plumber helper throughout high school. During summers, he worked as a rod buster for several years on many projects throughout Florida. He also worked as a steel erector on many Star and Butler Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings. Tom graduated in the summer of 1980 with a degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida.

Tom began his career with Fluor Corporation in Irvine, California as a Junior Engineer and was assigned to a 13.5 Billion Dollar Petrochemical Plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Tom has over 35 years of construction experience as a Project Scheduler. He has vast experience in the development and monitoring of project schedules, impact studies and claims analysis during on-going and completed projects as well as an in-house P6 trainer.

Tom has utilized Primavera Software since 1984 and has been using P6 since 2006.  He has worked on construction projects in many sectors including petrochemical, nuclear, power plant, theme parks, airports, hospitality, convention centers, and stadiums.
